Pedestal Bowls: Perfect for Winter Decorating
One current home decor trend we love is a pedestal bowl, and these can easily be filled with wintery decor to add a festive flair to your space without spending a lot of money. Pedestal bowls can be used year-round as a focal decor piece so it’s worth investing in one you love.

Fill your pedestal bowl with seasonal greenery such as eucalyptus or pine branches. I typically find eucalyptus and other greenery at Trader Joe’s, and you can find fresh evergreen trimmings at your Christmas tree lot. You can also go the easy-care route and opt for faux botanicals!
After adding the greenery, let your creativity be your guide and include candles (we recommend flameless candles as an extra safety precaution). You may also want to add pinecones, holly berries, lotus pods or other natural items. If you celebrate Christmas, a small cast reindeer adds whimsy and fun.
Tray Vignettes for Holiday Decor
I live in an apartment, so I am always drawn to a small seasonal vignette that can be contained on a tray. These tray vignettes are especially useful for small spaces where you want to minimize clutter.
When creating your tray, keep in mind the balance of heights, textures and colors in order to build a cohesive and visually appealing display. Be sure to include one item for height, and a few contrasting textures.

These decorative trays are easy to customize according to your personal style and decor taste- and it’s easy to use items you may already have. You likely already have a tray or wooden cutting board you could use! Arrange a vessel of seasonal botanicals, a candle or lantern for light, small statues or figurines.
Small Christmas trees are always a cute addition to a decorative tray. And these mini trees are pre-lit, which just makes them even more beautiful.
Winter Dough Bowl Designs
In the same vein as a decorative tray, dough bowls are easy way to style a seasonal vignette. Their rustic charm perfectly complements holiday decor like evergreen boughs and pinecones. As an added bonus, a dough bowl filled with seasonal decor makes a perfect centerpiece for your holiday table.

Evergreen Swag
Evergreen swag makes an easy way to decorate any space in your home that will look great well after the holidays are over. Swag can be hung on any door in lieu of a wreath, or on cabinet doors or drawers.

The juniper swag with blue berries would be especially stunning and cheerful in January, after the hustle and bustle of the holidays season has subsided.
Dried Oranges to Add Cheer

One of the prettiest holiday decor trends is using dried citrus rounds to adorn wreaths, garlands, Christmas trees or tablescapes. It’s not difficult to dry your own orange slices, which can then be strung using wire or twine into glowing garlands. They’re gorgeous on their own or added to garlands and wreaths. If you don’t have the time or inclination to dry your own oranges, you can buy them pre-dried here.
I hope this post has inspired you to begin decorating your home for winter and the holidays! It doesn’t take a lot of money or effort to create a warm, festive environment that will carry you through the holidays and into the new year.
